Last Glimpse Of Fall Foliage in New England

This week, my neighbor invited me to go on a road trip with her to Connecticut. Since my granddaughter's and my son live there, I jumped at the opportunity.

We hoped that we could get to see the foliage before it all fell but it was on it's way out. Still got some pretty colors while visiting a state park and a castle way up on a mountain. Thought I'd share them here for those of you who have not seen them on Instagram or Facebook. Enjoy!

Until next time, remember...

  1. Very nice. Sure seems like the colors didn't have their usual enthusiasm this year...

    1. No they weren't as crisp this year but I haven't seen this much foliage since I moved south in 2008.

    1. Thanks This! I did enjoy the change of the leaves as we don't get much color in Florida. I'm dressing quite warm here while Ray is swimming and sunbathing!

  3. Ah, lovely to experience and that sunshine adds a touch of sparkle. I'm a spring lover, but still enjoy a walk through the forest when the leaves are falling. Have fun, Barbara! x

    1. It's been a nice visit to see this for a change but the Florida in me isn't liking the cold air! Lol

  5. I guess Facebook didn't find me fit to see these, because I didn't see your pictures in my feed. They look amazing. Such beautiful colors. Our leaves all fell off overnight (apparently), so I didn't really get to enjoy those same views. I do get to enjoy picking up the aftermath, though...

    1. I was truly happy to see the changes in colors but for me that blue water, white sand and blue skies are my true love!!

  6. We missed the changing of the colours the rain just drowned everything... including my spirits. But, I think a little rain is a far cry better than a hurricane so I tend to keep my mouth buttoned and suck up the soaking... besides, I have a pretty umbrella.

    1. I did enjoy the views while up there. In Florida we don't get much change in color as we don't have the variety of trees as up north. Pretty soon the rain will turn to snow!! I hope it clears up a little bit before it's too cold to enjoy being outdoors. Hugs XX
